WIN Job Center: Job Seeker and Employer Services

There are Workforce Investment Network (WIN) Job Centers located throughout The Mississippi Partnership’s 27-county service area. A consortium of one-stop operators consisting of Itawamba Community College, Northeast Mississippi Community College, Northwest Mississippi Community College, and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security oversee and operate the WIN Job Centers.

All of The Mississippi Partnership’s WIN Job Centers provide convenient and easy access to services in areas such as employment, education, training, human services, and economic development. Services for customers are delivered through the WIN Job Centers by partners such as:

Job Seeker Services

WIN Job Center staff provide a wide array of services funded by the Workforce Investment Act, Wagner-Peyser, Job Corp, Federal Veteran Programs, and Adult Basic Education to name a few. Services offered through The Mississippi Partnership’s WIN Job Centers include the following:

  • Providing access to telephones, fax machines, copiers, and the Internet to help with job searches
  • Creating or updating a resume
  • Conducting job searches
  • Preparation for a job interview
  • Skill and aptitude assessments
  • Career assessments
  • Adult basic education services, including help with attaining a General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Training opportunities funded through Pell Grants, Individual Training Accounts, On-the-Job Training, and Incumbent Worker Training

Employer Services

WIN Job Centers offer businesses free job postings, a large pool of available and skilled workers, and information about and referral to on-the-job training programs that reduce the cost of training new employees. WIN Job Centers also save an employer’s time and money by recruiting and screening new candidates for employment. Listed below are other services offered to employers through WIN Job Centers:

  • Basic labor-exchange services
  • Database of qualified workers
  • Internet access to post job listings and review resumes
  • Recruiting and screening of job candidates
  • Assistance with writing job descriptions
  • Proficiency testing for employees
  • Training information
  • Private rooms for interviews
  • Up-to-date labor market data and wage information
  • Information on Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC)
  • Upcoming job fair information
  • Information on NAFTA and TAA benefits for employees
  • Rapid Response services
  • On-the-Job Training services
  • Incumbent Worker training opportunities
